Grape Valley to embrace tourist peak

www.chinanews.cn 2007-06-05 16:59:09

Since it enters summer, the Grape Valley of Turpan in Xinjiang Uygur
Autonomous Region has begun to witness more and more tourists. Despite
the sweltering summer heat in Turpan, this 8km (5 mile) long Grape Valley
remains cool and humid. About 15 kilometers from the city center, the
Grape Valley is filled with trellised walkways, that in the peak season
of July to August, are covered with bunches of grapes. The valley
produces more than 600 categories of grape. In the valley tourists can
enjoy grapes and other fruits in many local patios and outdoor tables.
The photos were taken on June 4, 2007.
