3b USD achieved in East China Fair

The 2005 East China Import and Export Commodity Fair closed in Shanghai
on March 6th. The six-day fair has contracted 2.974 billion USD in export
orders, up 1.6% over 2004. In particular, the export order of textile and
clothing commodities reached 1.7 billion USD, up 2.2% over last year.
Statistics from the conference office of the East China Fair indicated
that the Fair attracted more domestic enterprises and foreign businessmen
than in 2004. More than 3,300 domestic enterprises participated, an
increase of about 200 over 2004, while the number of foreign visitors
topped 20,000 for the first time, 8% higher than in 2004.
